Last night's sunset.
The horizon is black, a grain tower the only visible structure. It's backlit by streaks of bright orange. The grey clouds above painted with streaks of red, as the sky fades from light blue to dark blue. The sun's setting further. It's darker. A deep orange underneath dark grey clouds, strips of red on their undersides. The orange light reflects off of three vehicles parked below the horizon, painting their outlines.

The trail is being worked on; i suspect they're moving it back from the river given the erosion from past floods. The Motocompacto made some friends.
A Honda Motocompacto at a detour on the trail. I wound up carrying it over the gravel paths. If there's ever a second model of this, I hope Honda's thinking of putting suspension on it. A Honda Motocompacto parked on the edge of the trail. In the dirt is a Snow Removal Vehicle, a BOSS Snowrator. Why this is out here I have no idea; Snow hasn't fallen in my part of Colorado yet. But look at how stubby he is! A Honda Motocompacto parked next to the bucket of a Komatsu Excavator. tinybike, B I G D I G G E R . The best shot I got of the leaves turning. The trees are yellow, the grass along the grey trail is green, the sky above is grey. Good Sunday before Halloween.

Motocompacto Sunday III: Season of the Witch

There's a lot more brown fashion in this than I would've expected for 1990.

Damn, I thought it'd be worse. For a long time I couldn't tell the difference between black and really really dark blue.
My X-Rite Color Challenge/Hue Test. I got a two. Zero is a perfect score. I was expecting worse.

Test video. I used two different cameras - my Amazon Sludge Action Cam and my new Osmo Nano - to see what a "ghost" effect would look like, thinking the Sludge Cam's shitty sensor would give a stranger effect.

This took me too long to do in DaVinci; I'm really rusty. Must learn to mask.

It's windy today, so I decided to try out TVP and make a vegetarian ragu. This stuff tastes absurdly close to sausage. I used the Pork Ragu recipe out of a Cook's Country cookbook and just winged it.

Sunrise from the other morning.
Below the horizon is dark. The white lines of the two lane road and the wild wheat lining it are barely lit by car headlights. Above the horizon, is golden yellow, fading to a faint pink, split by dark grey clouds spattered with hints of orange, and above that a darkening blue-grey sky. Wisps of orange clouds float just above the horizon, right before the sun comes up.

Spooky ambiance from the outhouse/showerhouse/laundryhouse.
It's dark, except for the yellow light at the corner of the public restrooms, lighting the bushes around it. A yellow light above the men's room door. A window is cracked open, blue light seen inside. The outdoor waiting area, bathed in yellow light. Beyond the tables it's black, with peeks of light from campers far away.
