i got 3 of these old wooden ruler for 1€ each at a thrift store back in summer.
i've never liked how cheap plastic rulers feel and am too broke for nice metal ones. so these wooden rulers are godssend for me.

also got a bunch of parts from aliexpress on black friday so i can practice more 🤓👍

so far i like the practical electronics book a lot more, it's way better structured for me to understand. also the quirky writing in the dummies book isn't my thing lol.
