My thoughts: the framing of the question makes it a rhetorical, racist dog-whistle. Immigration enriches us all culturally, & economically. We don't need to protect our borders, they've been fine since the Battle of Hastings.

Did you ever watch the videos of Germans touring the gas chambers after WW2 and some of them were actually laughing until they started walking through because they still didn’t believe it. That’s where we are. Then you see their horrified faces. We are not there yet.
