Before ACA, many Americans couldn’t afford insurance

Alex Smith was a diabetic who got kicked off his Mom’s insurance at 26

He made 35k a year which was “too much” for Medicaid, but not nearly enough to cover insurance premiums

He had to ration his insulin & died a month after losing insurance
Insulin's High Cost Leads To Lethal Rationing
Alec Raeshawn Smith was 23 when diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and 26 when he died. He couldn't afford $1,300 per month for his insulin and other diabetes supplies, so he tried to stretch the doses.

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

Many of you, I know, receive a lot of national news, but care a lot about local. You also hate paywalls.

If that's you read this detailed story. "The Salt Lake Tribune, preparing to drop its paywall, launches a free, monthly print newspaper for Southern Utah."

This is Comcastic?
NBC just gutted the very teams that gave marginalized voices a seat at the table—then called it “restructuring.”

The cuts:

📌NBC BLK (Black community coverage)

📌NBC Latino (Latino community coverage)

📌NBC Asian America (Asian American community coverage)

📌NBC Out (LGBTQ+ community coverage)
