In 10 days I head to the US East Coast for a few days. Will be speaking at A11yNYC on 11/19 and joining DMV-A11y’s social hang in DC on 11/20.

If you’re at either of this events, don’t be shy, say hi!

It's about time I dusted off this space.

Earning the trust of your team is a key component of any aspect of “leadership”.

But it truly is earning, because trust exists on a spectrum, and it has to be cared for and maintained through shared values and communicated outcomes.

As I search for a touch screen monitor for my smart mirror project (so much for "I don't want a touch interface!"), I think I'm settling into a nice UI for it. On this week's stream, gonna tackle calendar updates & notifications

I’m avoiding the urge to ask for invites lol but I got a select few folks I’d like to bring on here. My company, too 👀 lololol

Happy Friday skyfam

Re-post when you see this--Now there's all fun games and all, but I see people in community I care about being laid off. I want people to post their opportunities/willing to be referral for people. Post if looking for opportunity. Let's help people succeed! Thank you

Damn typo.

ATProto and I have a date this weekend. The goal? Play around with creating alt feeds and populating them via a tunable “troll” score.

I'm one of those 2007 Twitter folks (*), so what kept me coming back was:
- community driving of features / interactions
- engagement
- spaces you can mix and mingle in organically

*mention because we didn't have hashtags, RTs or mentions for years lol. user convention turned them into features.
Curious, other than not being owned by Musk, what are the features you think you'd need for a real replacement for Twitter? Signing up is one thing, but staying and being active is another.

When I get back to my office, I'm kicking off my thread of mechanical keyboards. (I think I'm at 7 total rn, but 2 are my daily drivers).

What does observability look like in this new world of DID and ATProto systems? 🤔

Because @mewtru.bsky.social posted her awesome ass desk, I’m gonna share the (not as impressive) setup I have!

This gives me two feels at the same time:

Early Twitter (2007-2008)
Black Twitter v1 (2009-2010)

And I LOVE IT.

If you like red wine (esp in The Bay in Cali), peep McGrail Vineyards & Theopolis Vineyards.

McGrail is family-owned out of Livermore and excels in Cabernets.

Theopolis is Black Woman owned out of Yorkville. I’m a huge fan of their Pinot Noir & Petite Syrah.

Not affiliated, just a customer :)

I feel like I should’ve used my domain for this/DID. I have so much to learn about this new world and the AT protocol!
April 24, 2023 at 3:14 AM
Might need to tinker with the protocol and add Bluesky replies/notifications to my smart mirror project (this is my public reminder to write-up what I’ve done so far now that I’ve returned to streaming working on it)
