Well done , I can’t believe it’s so long ago . As a Health Visitor at the time it made immunising the babies and toddlers much more difficult , explaining the benefits of the vaccine fell on deaf ears some of the time . Covid ant vax rhetoric has compounded this , now we have an outbreak

Sadly you are spot on

One of the most damaging things to the nhs was Andrew Lansley’s reforms which created a huge number of different services instead of just one costing billions. Prevention has been eradicated by austerity/ lack of investment , putting PH into civil service and councils thus stopping challenge

Why is this catastrophe never ever mentioned in the TV news and very rarely in the press. It has been and still is the biggest cause of the drop in our economy in innumerable ways

In the U.K. putting PH into the civil service instead of the NHS has severely restricted what they can say or do. To a lesser extent DsPH are also not as free to etc in Local Authorities

DPP Keir Starmer is essentially the key driver of change on the grooming gangs scandal. Not more than a dozen people in national politics or media are engaged with grooming as an issue until Starmer & Nazir Afzal are prosecuting grooming gangs, 2009-11. Entirely the inverse of the Musk narrative.

Already following him. A really good man. Saw him and Keir Starmer speak at a sexual health conference years ago just after the Oldham gangs were prosecuted . They were both passionate about this issue and had done so much to ensure justice

I saw you and Keir Starmer at Manchester, a conference for the SARC. You both impressed me so much when you spoke. So straightforward, passionate about your work and helping victims of sexual abuse. Your results speak for themselves .

The line from Westhoughton onwards to Manchester ( I think) is being electrified, that’s how behind we are up in the frozen north, forgotten corner with 4 out of 5 trains cancelled daily

Really thought provoking , especially the last few minutes where the way commissioning is undertaken is mentioned almost as a last minute thought. It’s vital that commissioning is undertaken with a patient in mind rather than a task to be accomplished and paid for on its own.

The Tories own response to the Hay report praises Keir Starmer and Nazir Afzal . Says KS a model of good practice
