So sad to hear Tony Slattery has died. Had the pleasure of meeting him at a friend’s party and he was so nice to chat to - funny, super intelligent - it was like my own little ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ moment, and I’ll always cherish that memory. Rest in peace, Tony.

The usually lovely Fortnum & Mason was today like Dante’s nine circles of hell. Never have I seen such a swarm of humanity desperate for infusion teabags.

Well, here I am! (Looks around, pulls up a chair.) I did wonder what name to use… I originally used ‘Jayne’ online as was shy, and wanted to hide a little. Also there’s about a million ‘Amanda Carters’ out there in the world and all were savvy when it came to securing good handles etc.
