So sad to hear Tony Slattery has died. Had the pleasure of meeting him at a friend’s party and he was so nice to chat to - funny, super intelligent - it was like my own little ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ moment, and I’ll always cherish that memory. Rest in peace, Tony.

It’s just I am not one of them. I’m the Amanda Carter who tries to leap like a gazelle, crash-lands in a pond, flaps out, flicks away a toad, and has to be ‘AmandaCarter45899a’.

I like that my fellow Amanda Carters are wise, savvy beings, who leap like gazelles into social media and bag names like ‘AmandaCarterAuthor’ or ‘AmandaCarterArtist’ or even just the OG ‘AmandaCarter’. I like this.

Well, here I am! (Looks around, pulls up a chair.) I did wonder what name to use… I originally used ‘Jayne’ online as was shy, and wanted to hide a little. Also there’s about a million ‘Amanda Carters’ out there in the world and all were savvy when it came to securing good handles etc.
