Still a scientist but so many interests I no longer pursue. Walking, thinking, knitting, and playing bridge are my main pursuits to get through these times. I feel like I should be doing something, but what?
Love it, love it, love it!

That is exactly where I started to look at him. I actually thought a businessman might be a good President. But at that exact moment I thought: There is something wrong with this guy, I better look at him more closely.

I agree with you that people who have done bad can be victims. But I find it hard to see how powerful adults who are doing or have done evil things are victims in this case.

I lost something here: How can you be a "victim of extortion"? Don't you have to have something heinous in order to be extorted? So why would that person be a victim?

I would be surprised if the reduction in vaccinations would manifest as illness so soon. I am not arguing that we will see increased illness, I agree. But rather that illnesses we are seeing now may be the result of the relentless stress on people, politically, financially, etc.

I love it! Your sign, not their actions.

I was unaware of the webinar. Will check it out. Thanks for the tip.

That is an interesting idea. When I was in Smiths buying posterboard for my sign, I met a man who said he was bringing 10 (!) people. He volunteered to take them all our to lunch. As it turns out it would have been fine to bring your son, but better not to take any chances Lucky he has you.

Well done!

Thanks, I did not know either of those points.

I am impressed and would love to learn from you how to get people to come. I tried but the responses I got ranged from "I am afraid". I understand I was afraid too. To: "it is a waste of time. People have been demonstrating forever and nothing really changes". Love to hear your suggestions.

Thank you! I was not clear. I have been going to demonstrations as we used to call them, for ages, so I am good by myself. I meant if I could not convince anyone to come, how do we get to 20 million people?
October 20, 2025 at 3:36 AM
I get the numbers. It impacts no one if I strike, I am retired. I can stop buying but don't we need people to actually stop working? That takes a lot of courage and we only increased from 5 to 7 million with the impetus of masked men with guns in our streets. Most people I saw were older. So how?
October 20, 2025 at 3:20 AM
I'm a scientist and not particularly intellectual. I could not get anyone to join me yesterday. How do we get people to act? I expect we are talking about a general strike. We need to organize to support the low-income people who would leave their work. But how to convince people to act?

An alternate explanation is the considerable training the No Kings people did asking us to defuse confrontation and walk away.

I saw a couple in SLC with a sign that said something like: Proudly protesting since 1969. As I passed them I said: Gotcha by a few years! The SLC "rally" was hard on oldies - way, way, way uphill. But I got there.

Same here in SLC, Utah. Much, much larger crowd. And fortunately peaceful.

I love this idea, but still wish he would protest. It seems our last remaining act.

Geez, I wish I had had this poem to give to some people who are no longer here. Thank you for this gift. Who knows - it could be any of us needing a reason to wait, just wait a little longer.

In a meeting at that time but would really like to hear this. Any chance of posting something we can download later? Thanks, and good luck with this.
