Moving on from scales to learning my first 'song' 🎷

If you can call the Bingo nursery rhyme a song 😅

Was also trying to control my repeated notes using my tongue instead of stopping and starting my breathing. Had some frustration but I'm enjoying the challenge!

I had spent some more time between videos where I didn't film cause I didn't feel like there was any significant progress, but this one I noticed the scale felt more natural and I was thinking less about finger placements and mouth shape.

Felt like it was starting to click 😁

My second practice session (Feb 1st) 🫣 still trying to learn my basic scale and improve my breathing.

I've tried a different hobbies over the years, and have always struggled with the 'getting better' part of learning.

To me the fun was only had AFTER you are good at the thing, I just got frustrated at my lack of experience.

Feels so silly now I'm enjoying learning the sax 🤣

I've got more videos of my practicing which I'll share bit by bit. I recorded myself to better see my progress as I learn, but even without them i and in such a short period I can see improvements every time I pick it up 😎🎷

Always loved the sound of sax since I heard the intro music for the Tugs TV show as a kid. Never learned an instrument before, but a friend told me "why not? What's stopping you?" And now I own a saxophone 🎷

Realised it was the PS1's 30th anniversary in like two weeks, and it did me immense psychic damage.

Its nice to see everyone coming to bluesky and feeling refreshed, but as someone who never got into using the last site this is a somewhat different experience for me. A positive one but just much less impactful I suppose

These 'starter packs' seem like a cool idea, but if there a way for me to search for ones more relevant to me?
