1/ So, last night the New Hampshire House passed the state budget by a narrow margin. The passage came after the budget failed by exactly one vote. What happened to turn that vote around? The deal was done in public and it is deplorable. #nhpolitics

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” (Ezekiel 37:9)

Dear Elon,

This week I:

1. Was as tranquil as a forest but on fire within
2. Was as swift as the coursing river
3. Had all the force of a great typhoon
4. Had all the strength of a raging fire
5. Was as Mysterious as the dark side of the moon

For the Lectionary people out there: Sunday's reading from Jeremiah 17 is the source of the civil rights song sung at that March on Washington (and many other places). "We shall not be moved, like a tree that's planted by the waters, we shall not be moved:"

This, of course, will defend only Trump-supporting Christians. An Episcopalian bishop got threatened with deportation and Lutheran Social Services got attacked as money launderers, all by government officials, all in the past two weeks.

Christian Trump supporters may not see his proposed Gaza plan as genocide. Maybe they can see that it necessarily dismantles Gaza's Christian community which dates back to ancient times. It will definitely include the demolition of its 3 beautiful church buildings.

Episcopal Migration Ministries shouldn't have to suffer like this. I went to DC in 2019 to meet with them and tell our Senators in DC to raise refugee caps. They are a professional, class act all the way and this outcome is devastating on many levels.

Today I started reading Galatians and Paul sounds like he could be addressing #ChristianNationalism in speaking to those who abandon the Gospel for something counterfeit:

One of the co-sponsors of the House bill condemning Budde's sermon, listed below, is Rep. Beth Van Duyne, an Episcopalian.

I reached out to the Rt. Rev. C Andrew Doyle of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, which appears to be her diocese.

He told me he was concerned about govt "policing our sermons."

20!
There are 20 co-sponsors to Rep. Brecheen's resolution condemning Bishop Budde's sermon. None of these lawmakers can in good faith claim to support religious liberty. What they want is #ChristianNationalism.

Congressional condemnation of a Christian sermon about mercy is a dangerous attack on all our Constitutional freedoms of speech and religion. This is step in the direction of the "Aryan paragraph" that Bonhoeffer and the Confessing Church resisted. We must be ready.
