Lots of coated or galvanized fasteners and lots of great stainless steel as well - but short for siding and roofing and other building construction.

Residential decking is very rare, and zinc dipped screws that rust out pretty damn quick are common.

Contractors get Stainless steel everything.

So satisfying - I love those smooth-shank screws.

One of the few things I miss about the US is the selection of construction fasteners at a home store. Japan has a lot of good things, but coated deck screws are not one of them.

I brought 10lbs of 3” coated screws in my luggage for my deck rebuild.
