Interestingly, the response to his thread has prompted him to disable interactions on his posts—demonstrating he understands the value in curated spaces when he feels negatively affected by speech but still doesn't feel capable of extending that understanding to speech that dehumanizes entire groups

yeah there's no real disputing it, but this re-iteration of the point likely comes in response to recent efforts to try and legitimize him once again by centrists presenting bad-faith "free-speech" arguments.

I think it's less a troll and more a bitter ironic joke / sarcasm given that contextually that post was shared in a thread where he was expressing frustrations that private enterprise is rendering space inaccessible to genuine human curiosity

I think the organisational aspect of it being a recognized sport is, itself, the quality bar (as opposed to the skill of the players). Similar to how the exploitative 90s "bum fights" weren't a sport, there's a bar. I do think that bar exists for streaming, too.
