Exposure to antenatal corticosteroids was associated with increased risks of respiratory and nonrespiratory infections in full-term and late preterm children up to age 21, but no association was found in children born before 34 weeks’ gestation.

In this study, Hindes et al examine evidence for adverse birth and pregnancy outcomes. They find that reduced rates of preterm birth and increased positive screening rates for possible antenatal depression are associated with the first lockdowns.

Stillbirth rates across Europe are generally declining or stable, except for Germany and Belgium where rates are increasing. @maxikniffka.bsky.social tests if maternal age and the prevalence of multiple births explain these divergent trends across Europe. doi.org/10.1093/eurp...
