Really regretting that I didn't tour the White House during my DC trip two years ago before 1/3 of it was destroyed. This was as close as I got.

Meant to mention this three days ago, but 100 years ago, on October 20, 1925, these two twenty-somethings got married!

Those are my maternal grandparents. Nice hat, Grandma!

Milkmen? Replaced by refrigeration.

Assembly-line workers? Replaced by robots.

Humans used to replace bowling pins, too. Now machines do it.

All these machines provided equal or better service than the actual humans did, so consumers didn't care that they cost people their jobs. (3/7)

Proof: Remember switchboard operators? Of course you don't. They all lost their jobs when automatic switchboards became a thing. They worked great, so consumers were happy with them and didn't mourn the loss of the operators. (2/7)

The thing about AI in game design is that it will only be successful if it will produce a product for end consumers that is equal to, or better than, what can be provided by traditional means. Whether companies want it or not is ultimately irrelevant. (1/7)
