what a beautiful bike! The colors are really great. A bunch of friends ride Specialized bikes, they're all really happy with them.

weird, this post and this post only got tagged as Adult Content by bsky moderation (probably automated), I had to enable Adult Content in my settings to be able to view it. Can't see how it's different than the others, except for a M/M cover from KJ. I guess the guy's abs in Midsummer are extra hot.

probably the biggest difference is just the number of ports it has for connecting accessories, and you can config the MBP to higher end configs right? but the base performance and capabilities of them are very similar. The Pro has a fancier screen maybe?

It's so interesting that in the name of practicality we are urged to avoid any practical action; in the name of redemption we are urged to exonerate people who have shown no interest in redemption; in the name of civility we are urged to overlook the cruelty of those who scorn all civility

Maybe an interesting detail, I totally use the phone to look up readings for kanji I don't remember/know. I learned by radical & stroke count lookup; doing it that way would get me marginally faster again, but it doesn't add any educational/memory value, so IMO it's a perfect place to use a ML algo.

just my 2c. I think in an educational environment, the friction is the very important, not just completing the task. I also think we're always in an educational environment, in our job or hobbies, if we're growing and improving. I sacrifice that growth for short term productivity boost.

My work in programming is the same, I'm the programmer I am today from all the various nonsense I had to figure out over the years. It always seems like a waste of time figuring out some subsystem for a bug fix, instead of just fixing the bug, but I always retain a tiny bit from that, & it pays off

For fun I read Jpn novels, slowly. My vocab sucks. Look up unknown words, see all meanings, write kanji & kana & eng in a notebook by hand. ~40min/page. There's an app where you click on a word & see the eng, I can read 5m/page with that app. But I never learn the words. The friction is essential.

it seems totally random, sometimes I get translated titles & descriptions, sometimes not. i stg i watched one japanese video last night where the audio defaulted to machine translated text to speech and I screeched while trying to figure out how to turn it off, it was so gross.

Really love the Japanese horror comedy One Cut of the Dead. I'm a shudder subscriber but I am a big scardy cat, this one is not very scary.
