Since I work for Amazon, I have a bias, but I am using Rufus (our AI shopping tool) for the first time to help me find a product, and it's impressive. I want a desk/stand for my 3D printer. I gave it the space dimensions and told it what I wanted.

My life goal is to create a future for myself where I can be as chill as my dog Moka. 😌

(JJ Abrams filter added for extra chill effect)

Google's AI is simultaneously impressive (I use Gemini often) and incredibly dumb: the first search result is about Tumella, while their AI says there is no company called Tumella. 🤦‍♂

Wondering what people are doing with their Windows 10 computers now that the OS is end-of-life? Here's one example a friend shared with me, seen on the streets of Paris, France. 🤣

Today I started reading a PDF book on #procrastination. I got the book in 2011. So at least I'm being consistent, right? 😂

It's funny for me to see a hotel specify a WiFi device limit; 100 is basically unlimited, so why display a limit at all? 🤨

I recall when hotel WiFi was a new thing; if you were lucky you'd get one device for free and have to pay for every other device...

Medication advertising in the USA is hilarious sometimes...look at this ad. It has zero information about what health issue the drug is used for! This may be peak drug company hubris: "Just ask your doctor about our drug, maybe they'll find a symptom that matches?". 😂

For anyone that has ever asked themselves "Why do I bother keeping the original packaging for things?", well friend, I shipped some lenses and a camera to a company to get a price quote, and in total I made an extra $49 by sending them all back in original packaging.

Lyft in LA is quite expensive, so I'm taking a #Waymo for the first time and it's trippy. The whole experience is mostly frictionless (the directions to the pickup point were incorrect). The car drives with a reasonable blend of caution and calculated assertiveness. Feels like the future!

iOS26 on my M4 iPad Pro is interesting so far, with many things to adapt to, but one glaringly awful thing is this jagged text that appears for a second after you swipe-up to close a full screen app. It’s distracting and very odd. #iOS26

If Google announces a new #NestHubMax with a 12 (or larger) inch screen in October, this will be me. My family loves seeing photos and a bigger screen would make them all the more impactful.

Does anyone else find Android's Find My network somewhat lacking at times? I'll load the app, try to find an item, refresh five times with nothing but failures...then sometimes it will then just show me the location of the item. Not very reliable. 😕

The Distraction Removal tools in #LighroomClassic continue to amaze me. 🤯 The People removal tool isn't perfect, but it's damn close and can completely transform an image by removing distracting elements. Nicely done @adobe.com!

When someone tells you there are no new ideas, I want you to show them this.

The new #LightroomClassic remove reflection function is kind of mind-boggling. 🤯 GenAI-based pixel recreation has gotten quite good and it can rescue photos that a year ago I would have deleted as being beyond saving. We live in wild times! Nicely done @adobelive.bsky.social!

I'm still happy with how fast my 2022 Mac Studio M1 Max is...until I need to use Lightroom Classic's AI enhance tools. 😕 They work really well, but also require a lot of GPU power which the M1 Max is somewhat lacking in. #Apple

Being driven around #Bengalur is terrifying and fascinating. Scientists should study the spatial awareness of drivers; there will be motorcycles, scooters, cars and the "cabs" (tuk tuks) inches from each other. I could touch this side view mirror it was so close. And I never saw a single accident! 🤯

Also Google: "Sorry, but Gemini AI can't reliably play music for you like the Google Assistant could nine years ago. Oh and we replaced that product with Gemini AI now so yeah, playing music via voice is just too hard to do sometimes."

Never have I understood the theory of relativity more than I do right now watching the tracker in my suitcase slowly get closer to my hotel. 😔

Every day when I read the news headlines, I feel how this guy looks.

(to be clear though, that guy in the photo is part of the problem, not some innocent bystander)

Since hell will probably freeze over before @googlegeminiapp.bsky.social releases a macOS desktop version of Gemini AI, I decided to use Safari's File > Add to Dock feature. It makes a decent proxy for a desktop app, giving you one-click access, and it remembers the window size and position. Nice!

There's a lot of hype around all things #AI right now, and I maintain a healthy skepticism about what it can really do and what it can't. But it's exciting when you see it leveraged in a genuinely useful way that helps make your life just a little bit better. Like @googlephotos.bsky.social did here!

What I love most about this first-ever #YouTube video is that there are 5.34M subscribers to this channel with one video. It's been 20 years in the making, but I bet his next video going to be E*P*I*C. I'm guessing it's going to be one about giraffes and how their necks are long and how that's cool.

It's been a while since I sold anything on #Ebay, but wow have things changed! Maybe it's something I have mis-configured, but eBay's system determined the size and weight of the item I was selling without ever asking me, then charged the customer LESS for shipping than what I had to pay. 🤣
