#NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman spoke to media at Audi Field during the halftime break.

Asked about the league's change from its prior policy on trans players & future plans for a new policy, and got this reply:
I have four things to share, and hopefully that answers everyone's questions, and hopefully we can keep most of this focused on the game and the incredible athleticism on the field. So number one, we support, stand by and are proud of every single player who plays in our league. They deserve our collective kindness, professionalism and respect, and we celebrate them now and every day and through the championship. Number two, when we think about our "policy," what I can say is that every single player who plays in this league is eligible to play in this league. Otherwise they would not be playing. And we are proud of every single player who plays in our league. The third point I would say is, as it relates to this topic generally, it is quite controversial, and there are many different perspectives, and we are doing everything we can to educate ourselves, to listen, to learn, to speak with subject matter experts, to make sure that we have an informed and educated perspective. Our sport deserves that, and any changes that we make will be done in communication and collaboration with our players and our Players Association. And until then, our policy is our current practice, which is that every single player who plays in our league is eligible to play, and we should collectively rally around them, protect them and ensure that they're they're treated with kindness and professionalism.

D C. United has sent an email encouraging fans to buy tickets to Spirit-Racing on Saturday.

Not sure I've seen the Spirit and DCU link up to this extent since Sam Staab modeled the cherry blossom kit.

Narumi Miura's 2025 hasn't been what most expected, but IMO in her last 5-6 weeks she's noticeably improved. Big moments like the goal-saving tackle, and also subtle, quicker decisions.

Role lately has been more 8/10 than 6. Talked to her about it after the W Champions Cup game vs. Gotham:

But like now, okay I play 10, I can play more aggressive, but if I play 6 [it's] more like keeping the ball and focus on [thinking] more like defenders. So, I think it's good for me.

Didn't have a place to put this but after Spirit-Rise Academy last night, #CanWNT/#CanXNT defender Gabby Carle was really happy with what she saw out of a team full of potential future Canada players:
On playing against some of Canada's best young players: This was a really cool experience for me... What I want to say is, good job on them, because it's hard. They're 16-, 17-, 18-year-olds, and you come in and it's an intimidating environment, and I think they did great, honestly. They were very disciplined, they were not easy to play against, they were not easy to break down. And I think for a Canadian, there's a little bit of pride in that to see them competing so hard against us. On what Rise Academy's performance and the NSL says about the growth of women's soccer in Canada: Honestly, I feel like [the quality] always been there. I think it was more a question of getting those structures in place. When I was younger, I didn't have a league to look up to, and I had to come to the United States. I'm not complaining about it. I had a great experience [at FSU], and I'm here now, and I think it's because of that, of where I went and what I did. But I think now, these younger players, having something to look up to in Canada, I think there's a motivation there to stay in the sport, and to push to make those professional teams. And it's a really exciting time.
