I filled in the scroll with notes for making the scroll. It's not the neatest for handwriting. I opted to use two homemade inks (bistre, and bistre mixed with blue watercolor) as well as one far too runny fountain pen.

I *MIGHT* add simple illustrations at the bottom, later.

And here it is. The surface is quite smooth. And it should be easy to write/paint/draw on. I'm unsure which I'll do with it. This was really just a project exploring the question of "how might I make a scroll using sumi paper?"

The answer: Back it with cheesecloth.

If you see this, quote with a vampire that isn’t Dracula.

While I've not been feeling the best (have a lingering bug of some sort) I decided to doodle with pencils again. It's a planet with 2 moons in graphite: Tehvri IV. This picture started as marginalia on the various eyes/irises I was trying to draw.

I've added lashes and darkened areas with 2B and 6B lead. Not too shabby for a first go at this level of detail. I'll need some more practice to draw things to the way I want, tho.

Here's an eye I'm working on with a graphite pencil (HB mechanical) on 1cm dotted grid paper. The iris is intentionally distorted to appear fractured. It still needs lashes, darkening, and a little cleanup.

I am using this tutorial as for the basis of the eye.

I inked the title page of my gridded journal for compass roses. As you can see I don't yet have a very steady hand. 😆

The compass roses, are approximately scaled down versions of full page ones. I've got more purely digital and hand drawn ones to add to the book.

Here's the mandala, more or less finished. It's one of the many free ones available from mondaymandala.com

Thanks!

I did putz around for around an hour tonight. (Which was probably pushing it) And I came up with the following two rough draft quality items.

I do need to figure out a better lighting situation for photos. 😆

Okay, so, I may have done an hour's worth of putzing with my watercolor pencils on a piece of basswood. it resulted in a rouhg-draft quality minimap. Earlier was just graphite for 15 minutes. They're the smallest ones I've made. (I should have just used my Prismacolor as I didn't use any water)

Here's the little box I made. It's a sturdy thing a roughly 4x4x6 inches. Each side wall and bottom is made of two plies of 1/16th inch basswood. The central plank is 3 plies for the inner portion.

Here's the (more or less) finished version of the map.

Here's an updated progress image. I resumed work immediately after the IV meds were done. (Probably a mistake with how tired I am.) I've gotten to a good breaking point.

The ALT text has details on main differences.

Tool note: I'm using a 20/0 brush for 99% of the brush work.

Here's the mini-practice-map, on basswood, I've been putzing with in the evenings. The largest mountain on the largest island had some hideous errors that I corrected last night. I was considering not sharing it if I couldn't correct those.

I still have some shadows and highlights to add.

And... the first PDF I opened might be of interest to you. It's a 3 tier system. HERO, 6th Edition. It has Normal, Heroic, and Super-Heroic tiers.

The official site is: www.herogames.com

It's a point-buy based system, in some ways akin to GURPS.

The image is a snippet of the tiers.

Oh, and here's a view of my repository folder. I shared it earlier with someone else. . . Just a few things to click through, yeah?

😆

FWIW, I have just under 90 folders in my #TTRPG digital library, for various main systems. I got them between 2006 and 2010. That's why I asked about new things in the past 15 years.

If a system hasn't changed in 15+ years, I probably have it, or have seen it and decided not to get it.

And removing the word "cognitive" from the definition sought, produces the following (screenshot image). It would seem either I'm missing something, or the AI is producing very different results for nearly synonymous phrases. Am I missing something?

Not sure if you know whoever runs necropraxis.com but the PDF for the hazard system appears to have been deleted.

The link to the PDF on page brings up the page in the attached image (The link on the page www.dropbox.com/s/gelc80q6o6...)

Hi Tim Onion(@bencollins.bsky.social),
Your website is right. I do have one of the suspected qualities. Can you guess which one it is, and why I proactively take meds for B. procyonis?

Here's both files in VLC. I'd also setting for the time being shown. Some additional information, ANY additional information would be very helpful in letting users select the version they wish to view.

And here it is with a dual hemisphere orthographic projection and with the oceans colored blue. I used G.Projector from NASA to generate this projection.

Hi Rabbi Ruttenberg. Just an FYI I'm not sure who is maintaining the webpage, or if this is a known thing, but I noticed this at the bottom of the about page. It kind of looks like a template text that usually replaced before going live. :-)

I have to zoom to 175% on Chrome to comfortably read it. (Typically I only need 110% or 125%)

It's a very narrow font and suspect this is the primary cause.

And the contrast between background and font text seems lowish. (I'd start with tweaking font thickness.)

Image it is at 1080p.

Oh this reminds me of my (now departed) dog Foxy. She'd do the same, but on walks (I never ran). She also didn't like being carried, so I'd have wait for her to be willing to walk again.
