4/ the other day was the 10 year anniversary of that Pluto encounter. And really feel my days of playing scientist are near an end. With how the NASA budget might be cut and how hard it is normally to get funding and just feeling like I am not too important to the field.

3/ I got to be part of the composition team, playing with endless amounts of spectra of Pluto, Charon, the small satellites and then Arrokoth in 2019.

2/ of course I followed the news on a mission to Pluto. That was always on again/off again. Never in my childhood dreams did I think I’d be part of the New Horizons mission. But somehow I was.

I’d like to see it in both. NIR spectroscopy can tell you so much.

I want to make a Doctor Who joke, but it probably wouldn’t be understood. But has anyone checked if Omega is at the other end of that beam?

Chapter 1 of Timothy Snyder’s book “On Tyranny” is titled “Do Not Obey In Advance.” Guess he didn’t get that memo.

Sound like quite a forward thinking person. I would have voted for him if I was a NYC resident.

What to do?!? Finish up projects and move on or stick with science? I know nothing else.

As a native NYer who grew up under Mario Cuomo as governor (too young to really know anything), and apparently shared the same high school as his son (some years later), and given Andrew’s reasons for leaving office, I’d certainly vote for a different candidate, if I still lived there.
