Opinions are my own
Agree. In New York City. In 2025.

Doesn’t mean that’s possible in other places.

Politics is a game of the possible.

I think we need to compare Democrat’s action to the realistic alternatives not to the ideal.

It is our job as citizens to expand their range of possible options.

Not sure if your post is intended as a criticism of Newsom but there’re definitely some D’s who do.

Was there 2 weeks ago. Doing just fine. He’s an unhinged old man.

Hopefully, he doesn’t run into anybody needing subsidies for their healthcare this year.

I see a PHEV as a bridge for us to get to a smaller EV with a 350-400 mile range that I can afford (2028-2030?).
November 6, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Much better range than my ID.4. I usually drive ~80 mph and in cold weather (40 F or lower) only get 175 mile range. This means 2 charging sessions each way on 350 mile trip.

Not sure if it’s narcissism, Messiah complex or D–K effect, but you get the idea that Gates believes that he has THE unique perspective & only he can fix it* (* - everything). Can’t we inject some Warren Buffet DNA into these guys?

He’s done a lot of good, but there’s definitely collateral damage.

Even knowing the shortcomings of PHEV, I am still planning on buying one soon.

My wife will drive 16 miles RT to work daily on city streets, so I hope it will be all electric.

We will use it for road trips to our parents 350 miles away. Will cut about 1 hr 15 min off the trip each way vs our EV.

Sometimes I feel like the challenges we face were designed to help us become the best version of ourselves. Not sure what’s more important, the doing or what gets done.

If you had a plan that people liked and was effective, why would you be worried about it being leaked?

Definitely a Freudian slip .
November 2, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Why did Democrats agree to it (again)?

You need to think about a Decatur commute! Plus, you get to go by that sweet solar field being put in just west of your place.

Or that in the US, 40% of corn (about 10,000,000 acres) is grown to produce ethanol that is just simply burned. I always ask people to imagine half of the cornfields just burning & it’s not quite so attractive.

The income from solar can make a big difference to small farmers - 5x income from crops.

What is the alternative to trusting experts? Trusting non-experts? Or just don’t trust anyone at all?

I guess he would say he “does his own research.” But if he does enough research to come to a definitive conclusion doesn’t that him an expert?

This is making me dizzy.

Thanks for getting the word out Senator Marshall!

When people see Americans standing up for democracy and peacefully protesting, they will understand just how full of shit you are!

Dying on this hill is a luxury we don’t have. There are many hills. We need everyone for all of them.

I don’t eat meat, fly & drive an EV but that doesn’t make me trustworthy. Having empathy & caring about others makes me trustworthy.

We must focus on bringing others in not pushing each other out.

Has anyone ever estimated the ROI that oil companies get on their political investments?

It must be enormous.
September 20, 2025 at 3:01 AM
At first I thought the best thing about buying an EV was the reduced emissions.

One day when I was driving by a gas station, I realized the best thing was not funding the machine that was killing the world.

“But if we aren’t selling you all that stuff, how are we going to make billions in profit?” - FF Exec

Maybe we can integrate FF’s into RE, kind of like agrivoltaics. You know, jet engine propelled win turbines or coal-fired photovoltaics.

I’m only half kidding on the gas powered turbine/generator.
