Cool, yea I think Logan Square is a good choice and you can get the blue line down to the venue. (though fair warning it's been like 15 years since I lived in Chicago).

Yea sadly is gonna be expensive.. Did you look in Pilsen (lower west side) at all? Looks like your search area is just above that area, which does have pretty easy access to downtown. Also you could check Priceline, which usually has some deals if you're ok with rolling the dice on hotel quality.

Great record! here in the US I only ever saw the Back To Basics compilation, which is what I had.

Congrats on selling yours!! I definitely would have done the same if I'd been smart enough to buy one in 97.. Pretty sure the only dirt pedal I have from 1997 still is a vox valvetone, lol. On the klone front I have a tumnus that I think sounds great.

Where can I get some? mine are worn out and have turtles and walruses on them rather than ducks.

Would scarf joints help? I've never really understood the benefits of a set neck either. Honestly was just in the market for an LP but ended up buying a tele deluxe instead because I guess I have something against Gibson.

I feel you, my wife doesn't allow tilt-back headstocks in the house either.

Looks like the speaker lineup from last year's ReasonablyOKWeek if that's what you're implying.

I'm 100% here for more guitar content, though I'm not sure I should be thanking you for putting more ideas about custom guitars in my head. My strat is pretty old and maybe isn't good to keep beating on it.
