Catradora Fanfiction Summary Title: Unprofessional Engagement Summary: Adora holds her glass up. “To life filled with happiness.” She takes a second to really look at Adora. She’s wearing another suit today, this time without a vest. Gods, it’s unfair how good she looks. It’s also unfair that Catra finds herself again sitting across from this woman, wanting her. Although this time, she knows with painful accuracy exactly what she’ll be missing out on if she doesn’t take the opportunity. She can tell that Adora is more subdued. It makes her think that she took Catra’s choice to not answer her texts often as disinterest. It’s definitely not that. If anything, Catra doesn’t want to come off as some wide-eyed girl who’s hanging off Adora because she’s starstruck. Yet, sitting this close to Adora, she can hardly think of the reasons why she shouldn’t try to rekindle what’s clearly still between them, just waiting to be set ablaze. Catra raises her glass to meet Adora’s a light tinkling sound reverberating between them. “How about to a long night spent however we choose?” OR Adora and Catra, two lawyers, navigate sleeping together in different stages of life (alternatively, a fic I never thought I'd write). Age Gap/Lawyer AU.

As soon as they step away, C'yra's eyes fall on a vision that's downright heavenly. Adela stands out on the stoop of her home, fingers wrapped carefully around the top of her broomstick. The morning light catches her from the side, lighting half of her up as warm as the spark of a fire, and casting shadows that caress her form on the other half. Her hair turns into pure gold in the sun, spilling over her shoulder where she tied it back lowly from her face. Her bonnet left inside, the breeze blows a few strands of hair up into the air, and they dance above her head like a halo. Her eyes find C'yra's immediately, shooting sparks through her veins even from across the square. The smiles that grow over both their lips are undeniable, and C'yra walks towards Adela like their hearts are magnetized to each other. Even if she wanted to fight the desire to always be near her, she wouldn't be able to. As if she can't bear to wait for her, Adela tips down the steps in front of her home and greets C'yra on the dirt walk. "A full moon rises before nightfall," she says quietly, her voice sweet as honey.

She can feel the fear and the sadness on her face inside of her own chest, the emotions all too familiar. "Maybe we reunite the hand and the body and nothing happens at all. Maybe the killers take Adora away from me forever and we all die tonight." "Is this supposed to be a pep talk?" Entrapta questions from her side. Catra ignores her. "But maybe it is. Maybe we do end this whole curse, right here, right now, and we free my girlfriend and every future generation from this bitch's grasp. Isn't it worth that chance? So this never happens to anyone else?" Mara's eyes meet hers with an intensity beyond anything she's shown her yet. Her ochre eyes dig into her, staring down her soul. "Tell us where the hanging tree is. Let us try."

You may have seen this post circling talking about how important it is to tell creators when you appreciate what they do.

The irony is it's MY post from Tumblr stolen by someone else. Please reskeet THIS post & NOT the stolen one bc we support creators making their own work on bluesky.
My post from Tumblr which reads: I genuinely wonder if people realize how many projects get abandoned because the readership "wasn't there", when in reality, the readership just stayed silent. It's a big thing in trad pub that book series get discontinued because readers pirate the books or wait until the series is finished to buy a copy, leading the publisher to think that nobody actually wants the book enough to continue the series, but it happens with indie creators too. I've discontinued a lot of free, online series because it's not worth putting 3-5 hours a week into posting a project for no readers. Sometimes I finish the series for me but just never post it again, other times I don't finish it at all because it feels more worthwhile to put my time into other things. Sometimes I hear from readers who are sad or upset that I didn't finish something they were liking, but the *reason* it never got finished is because I didn't know anyone liked it. If you like something, tell the creator, tell your friends, make some noise about it. If you would be sad if a story never finished, make that interest known because one of my biggest considerations before discontinuing a series is "will people miss this? Will I be letting people down" and 9/10 times, I come to the conclusion of "no, it doesn't even seem like anyone's reading this" only to learn after I've moved on that apparently someone was.

The back door opens with a swishing slide, the music and the crowd blaring, and then it shuts, everything falling quiet again. Vi can still hear it, could pick apart her sister's voice complaining about her to Ekko if she really strained for it, but she doesn't. She lets everything mix together like radio static, nothing but a buzz in her ears. Three clicking steps move closer to her-someone missed the memo that she doesn't wanna talk. "That looks like it hurts," a high, accented voice commented. Vi flicks the cap of the vodka bottle and sends it spinning into the backyard. "It's fine," she growls, more two noises than words, and splashes the alcohol across her bloody knuckles. It burns but she's used to it—as long as she keeps it clean, the cuts and bruises will be nothing but a memory in a few more hours. The voice scoffs. "Do you have something to prove, or are you just an idiot?" Vi swings around, rage peaking at what kind of stranger would possibly have this audacity, and stops in her tracks at shining cobalt hair and glittering blue eyes. The woman looks down her ivory nose at her, genuine curiosity filling her face, and Vi can't help the way her eyes fall down her figure. A pretty blush blooms high on her cheeks, but she tries to play it cool with a shrug. "Just wanted to see the person strong enough to land Finn flat on his arse." Vi grins, turning fully towards her and shamelessly flexing the bulky arm she's leaning on. "I got a clean hand if you want someone else knocked 'flat on their arse,’” she flirts, mimicking her posh accent. Cupcake huffs a laugh, her eyes lingering on Vi's bicep. Vi wiggles her eyebrows next, sidling closer. "Or...if there's anything else you need a hand with." The woman's eyes find hers again, her smile twisting with disapproval. "I don't think you should be doing anything with your hands until you see a doctor." "Oh, you're into role play, huh? Kinky." Her blush doubles, as does her frown. "I'm serious." "So am I," Vi smirks and shrugs again. "Fine, no hands? My tongue still works just fine." The woman turns away, the light from the house dancing across her face and revealing an even deeper scarlet blush over her pale cheeks. "Oh, you're disgusting." Vi prowls closer, breathing in her scent. She's wearing perfume, something rich and floral, but under it she's sweet as pie. "My preferred term is filthy."
