At last night's Full Council, I spoke to our amended motion, originally proposed by Tory opposition on the two-child benefit cap.

Whilst Hackney Labour agrees the cap needs to go, I cannot stand the mere hypocrisy of the opposition proposing this motion when it was their policy!

A busy day in the ward today! First stop at St Peter's Church to celebrate St Peter's Day. Then headed to Lockner Estate's summer party! 🥳🎉
The food was delicious, and great to see so many people out to come together as a community. Nothing beats De Beauvoir in the sun! 🥰🌞

Wishing all my fellow carers a fantastic Carers Week! This year's theme is 'Caring about Equality' highlighting the inequalities that sadly many of us experience. Often we battle our own disabilities so good to have awareness week's like this to show what we go through as carers

It's been an emotional day for farewells. Watching the Pope's funeral service brought me to tears. Then had to say goodbye to Fr Simon Cuff @stpetersdb.bsky.social as he moves onto pastures new. 😢

Thank you for all you have done for us here in #DeBeauvoir, you'll be greatly missed.

Budget Council is underway at Hackney where the Labour administration @carolinewoodley.bsky.social is setting out our budget for the year ahead. Tackling the housing crisis, leading the way in fighting against climate change is just some of the ways this budget continues to deliver for residents

Great to hear such positive feedback on the doorstep yesterday - a testament to the hard work Cllr Walker and I put in to represent our residents. A huge thank you to everyone who came out - encouraging to see so many would be councillors too 🥰🌹

After a busy few days in the ward, it was lovely to round off the week with #LunarNewYear celebrations at the new East and South East Asian Community Centre.

I'm just so mesmerized by how amazing the space is! So proud to have such a special and important place in my patch 🥰❤️

Great to join parents and kids at the Enfield Road play street today! With playgrounds getting national attention, initiatives like this are vital for children's development, especially for families living without, or minimal outdoor space. #PlayMatters #Community

Proud to have seconded the motion to End the Hostile Environment policy at last night's Full Council meeting with Hackney Labour & Hackney Independent Socialist Group. In these times of rising right-wing rhetoric, we must stand firm against hatred & discrimination. #NoToHostileEnvironment
