November marks 6 months since I was elected as a Cllr for De Beauvoir Ward! It's been rewarding helping residents find permanent housing, attending community events, and ensuring rubbish is collected. Cheers to 6 more months and beyond! 🎉

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

At last night's Full Council, I spoke to our amended motion, originally proposed by Tory opposition on the two-child benefit cap.

Whilst Hackney Labour agrees the cap needs to go, I cannot stand the mere hypocrisy of the opposition proposing this motion when it was their policy!

A busy day in the ward today! First stop at St Peter's Church to celebrate St Peter's Day. Then headed to Lockner Estate's summer party! 🥳🎉
The food was delicious, and great to see so many people out to come together as a community. Nothing beats De Beauvoir in the sun! 🥰🌞

Attended my first Scrutiny meeting of the year last night with the Skills, Economy & Growth Scrutiny Commission. I raised questions on council assets, allocation of peppercorn rents, fleet electrification & potential road impacts. Catch the session here:

Great morning at St Peter's Church in my ward, working with members of the congregation and committee to map what the church should be doing moving forward. From better communication, to engaging better with younger audiences, I learnt a lot about how I can help be a connector as a local councillor.

Wishing all my fellow carers a fantastic Carers Week! This year's theme is 'Caring about Equality' highlighting the inequalities that sadly many of us experience. Often we battle our own disabilities so good to have awareness week's like this to show what we go through as carers

I would like to wish a very happy Eid al-Adha to Londoners and all those observing around the world.

Eid is a special time to reflect on our blessings, renew our commitment to our faith, and show compassion to those less fortunate.
