Morgan is 16 now, and tries to pretend he isn’t by running around and jumping and stealing food from magpies and destroying toys. But I was told by a vet that it’s time to give him arthritis supplements and Metamucil, so I guess he is an old man

This is the second year my desert rose has flowered. I told a friend last year I was disappointed they were white and not pink or red, he told me that white is rarer and was jealous. But I have decided they are pretty (and gave my friend a cutting because he didn’t have white in his collection yet)

Poor Morgan hurt his dew claw, so we’ve wrapped it up. He doesn’t like it and is hopping around instead of walking. But still has a little blep when he sleeps

When I arrived at school this morning, one of my grade 7s told me that there was a dead crow in the middle of the footpath outside the music room. It was obviously an omen, as a series of bad things have occurred today (the first being that my husband had to dispose of dead crow)

My husband asked to use my desk so he could video edit on his laptop - there’s a nice big empty space, unlike his own desk. He decided to use it to film as well, so I told him he has to put all my charms & toys back in their correct spot. Ruuuuude he’s shoved them all over the place 😭

Feeling a bit headachey with sore eyes and bleauh, so I decided to make ramen. I burnt my arm boiling an egg for the ramen. So now I’m full and bleauh with a sore arm 😢

I’ve been lucky with this cyclone - missed most of the wind, only briefly lost power once, and it hasn’t rained most of the afternoon. Just got to get through the expected flooding tonight (my house will be fine - areas around me might not be)

Tidied house. Took dog for a walk. Continued charging all the handheld devices in my house. Filled even more bottles of water. Have managed to not start eating my cyclone snacks yet. I lived much closer to the coast last time I was in a cyclone, this is really weird and calm skies right now

I’m completely prepared for this cyclone - except for my elderly dog. He’s started needing multiple toilet trips during the night. And he’s always been delicate about getting wet paws. But is a good boy who refuses to go inside. How will he cope with days of heavy rain? 🥺

Went to a DVD shop last night, and it had made a display of all the David Lynch material they had. The two staff members were standing next to it.

Went to a DVD shop last night, and it had made a display of all the David Lynch material they had. The two staff members were standing next to it.
A: “I’ve never really watched any before.”

The side fence is being replaced (which requires a lot of digging and replacing a retaining wall) so when my dog goes outside, its on a lead so he can’t run next door. He usually has to toilet heaps more often, but its like he’s desperately holding on so he doesn’t need lead time 🤷♀️

Lots of feelings about my dog getting old, but I have so much joy that him going deaf means the TV blocked out the fireworks noise and he stayed asleep instead of freaking out. Happy new year!! Especially to all the people and animals scared of loud bangs!

Made some toshikoshi soba for dinner tonight, it was delicious, and a nice break from chocolate, xmas cake and fruit 😅

I went for a swim today, and it was fantastic. I’ve managed to visit at least 4 different beaches this week.

I’m back from Korea, not sure if I miss the cold or am glad I escaped the cold. They had a lantern and light festival on in Seoul while I visited, it was quite pretty. Started Christmas with my husband’s family and have so far received chocolate and a doona!

So I went to the Busan Tower, and they’d set up this activity with QR codes solving puzzles and searching for answers to crack a code. If you were correct, you got a reward. And the reward was your choice from six cards featuring the resident cats. It was so hard to pick just one!

Everytime someone from the lab rings me, I assume it’s because something just exploded. Even though they always just want to borrow something.

I am attempting to propagate my desert rose for a uni friend. As soon as he heard mine had white flowers, he was super keen to get any seeds. So I chopped a bit off for him in case no seeds happen

My mum loves crucifix orchids, and I saw this pretty one when I visited her last weekend. She mostly has orange ones, so its nice when her other colours bloom too

This is one of my parents’ dogs, Bindi. She was originally my grandad’s (he died in 2015) and she is 16. She’s doing so well for an old girl! (I love her floppy ears) She loves men with beards (so my grandad and dad haha)
