Bronze-scale Kobold, Blue Mage with a Gun.
the gacha is the biggest thing keeping me away from Mahjong Soul. I played a bit, ran into the gatcha, and left shortly after.

I understand... many of the rules, at least. Enough to enjoy playing usually

Friend heckling is the best part of any game though.

Technically one already exists... but we're not supposed to throw that around because of the implications and components.

As for a new one, how 'bout inkoid

I think it's normal to be upset about the perception of imbalance, especially when IRL interactions are so rare.

Exceptional circumstances are understood, but when it's just "Surprise, I'm not coming!" it gets... frustrating.

Good news, the car is out of the shop as of a week ago, looks like when I first got it in the affected areas. But work last week was god awful for activity.

The ride never ends.

I'll either work the extra night again tonight, or put it off until tomorrow for regular schedule. Just feeling tired.

If you don't know how much that is, half of a standard water bottle.

They put a drain in her leg to pull any more out while she heals, but since she fell, I've been having to do a lot to help her, and I'm tired. Wrap her leg in bandage. Cook all meals. Do dishes. Re-wrap her bandage. Work.

There really is no reason for the cost increase I can see, but it's always 'costs and upkeep'. But that's about the flavor of fuckery here, yeah.

The storage unit isn't associated with the apartment. Different facility, we rent a 10x10 to hold our extra stuff until we can sort and deal with it, or get into a house.

It started at $84 a month. With the $30 increase over the year, it is now $114 and it really shouldn't be.

Like our storage unit rent going up 30 bucks in the span of 12 months. And there are no laws against them doing that.

This odd mix of seething anger, vindictive fury, smug satisfaction, and relief has left me in an odd place. I don't like it, but at least most of the problem is resolved, or set to be resolved without being too much of a hassle.

So now we can focus on other, less important hassles, I guess.

The video and my mom's account of things corroborate neatly. And we were able to point to the exact spot because I was able to translate my mom's still upset ramblings to me, to a map, and then show/tell the officer that came to take the report.
April 14, 2025 at 11:35 AM
A lot of this is the fear of what could have been.

A lot is anger and annoyance because of what is.

I am also thankful that the report filing has been exceptionally easy for this incident as well.

I am also pleased the officer that took the report found the moment the accident happened on camera.

I have this almost placid poison weighing me down in my belly now.

I am grateful the worst did not happen.

I want to do Violence™️ to the person who -could have- hurt, or killed, my mom if it was bad enough.

I want to yell and roar in their face about my car, my livelihood, being at risk.
April 14, 2025 at 11:35 AM
That was a DEDICATED TURN lane, and they could have seriously hurt my mother. They could have damaged my car, the source of my income, to the point I lost that too.

Feeling like I could have lost them both like this, I feel strange. It didn't happen. We will live and recover in time.

HOWEVER...
April 14, 2025 at 11:35 AM
I am still exceptionally upset that this happened. I am glad mom seems okay, save the scare. I am relieved the car is still in a usable state, after getting it examined by the body shop the insurance company sent us to.

But I am feeling a seething, vindictive kind of anger now for this person.
April 14, 2025 at 11:35 AM
This person keeps going.

Mom's switch flips to "pursuit" and she CHASED THE TRUCK.

The truck tried to evade, and only stopped at a busy intersection a minute later. She got a picture of the back end of the truck, then came back home.

When she called me down to see what had happened, I saw this.
April 14, 2025 at 11:13 AM
In the lane to her left, there is a dark gray Dodge truck. It is a dedicated left turn lane. As my mother pulls up and begins her turn, this truck goes straight.

And sideswipes my mom, in my car.

After an accident, you're required to stop, and exchange information with the involved drivers.

And yes, that guy, that one guy, kind of a fucking stereotype. Absolutely absurd. But I think he also had a grudge against us ever since he met our dog. Tried to go "we don't allow Pitbulls" after we'd been living there for years, and I remember referring to his actual breed name when we signed on.
March 12, 2025 at 5:40 PM
I'm just glad mom just so happened to have had what is effectively "Lawyer On Retainer" service insurance as part of her state employee retirement benefits. I just wish it wasn't needed, too.

Without that, we would have been up Shit Creek trying to reach land by hand.
March 12, 2025 at 5:34 PM
In the end: Collections halted, security deposit given to old landlord, we never use them as a reference. I'll take that over the BS attempt to bilk us for almost 6-8k.
March 9, 2025 at 5:30 PM
We also got to see the email chain between the lawyer and their side's representative. They were claiming carpet replacement for basically the entire property, as opposed to patching the damaged section, or replacing the affected carpet.

Eat an entire bushel of dicks, sir.
March 9, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Specifically, the agreement is that they keep our security deposit, and we don't use them as a reference in the future "Because it will be a negative one."

I don't want you as a reference considering how you behaved. Our current landlords are such a far cry better than you it is embarrassing.

Yes, theft is the cause of having so many things locked down like that.

No, that doesn't mean it's "the immigrants" doing it.

Given you admitted to stealing yourself, Mr. Customer, your argument feels a bit... *off*.

The hell.
