Ady rides bikes
@jardlshd.bsky.social
I ride bikes to the places promised in the car adverts
My suv has two wheels 🚲🏍️
I had a parent like the one in the mobility scooter.
Inconsiderate pavement parking like that robbed him of the last scraps of his independence.
But hey let’s stop the war on the hard working motorist…./s

The delivery driver parked on the drive, wrote out the sorry we missed you card and posted it through the letter box without even attempting the delivery

So I didn’t have to pay to park, nor did I have to hunt for a space either.
In fact I could park right outside the shop.
On the way back I saw a friend so I stopped for a quick chat, and I didn’t have to find somewhere special to stop either.
But cars=freedom 😉

I’m going to be rebellious and conformist.
I’m rebelling against the #carnormativity by cycling to the shops, but then being totally conformist by purchasing postage stamps, I don’t think my pensioner mum could afford nor appreciate paying to receive her Christmas card

Hypothetically speaking, she’d still be in my lair thinking to herself “how many hammers does this fucker have and why the actual fuck is the picture frame still by hall door???”
But yes I’d like expect to get my hammer back.

It’s more nuanced than that though isn’t it.
The registered keeper is not always the one with the points.
I’m not against the idea, but it does come with a lot of what if’s?

That’s a very long time to go without a proper break.
Sounds like you definitely need the time to decompress.
Have a relaxing break

Isn’t it past time when cars stopped just flipping over?

Depending on the severity of the rto I’d be in favour of this.
It would definitely tip the scales towards the “cash cow” argument, and also be infringing the supposed rights to drive.

Agreed.
I used to run a 30yo Toyota.
But I’d had enough of spending every weekend fixing it, 30yo rubber seals for keeping wet stuff wet and dry stuff dry was the problem.
We bought a modern diesel that lasted 80k, the failing gearbox was the final straw.

If your village has been ruined by a cycle lane and a pedestrian crossing then it can’t have been much a of village before hand
