Thankyou @biancanogrady.bsky.social for the repost.
A friend included this anti-acknowledgement section on her PhD thesis. She also added the proposition: “Systematic bullying and undermining of girls and women in STEM starts early on and is the reason why they do not stay in science and related fields.”
Absurd we still need to go through this

Peer review has pro's & con's - but mostly pro's. Can it be done differently? Change can be challenging, difference can be confronting, new, worthwhile things will be controversial for some. "We've always done it this way..." is no reason not to try something innovative. See @japr-ers.bsky.social

PhD by papers/publication is a great way to complete a PhD but can you have the required number of papers published/accepted by your maximum submission date? Publication can be glacially slow & scholarships run out. JAPR can help with our innovative model of peer review and submission.

JAPR’s innovative model of peer review maintains academic rigour & simplifies the whole submission process. Our system was created to offer an alternative pathway to facilitate postgrad publishing. JAPR offers another tool in the publishing toolbox, helping postgrads complete their degrees on time.
