While the Caps wait for their shooting percentage to regress (and it likely will somewhat, including on the PP), it's worth noting it may not come from the players you'd expect. Guys like Strome, Pro, Chychrun have regressed to perfectly reasonable Sh%; last year, not this one, was the outlier.(1/2)

8 wasn't as big an expected goals anchor as I'd expected, and obviously way more than made up for it in actual goals. The real question is how much regression should we really expect on those numbers. Also, if not 8, who are your ideal wingers for 17?

@halfagain.bsky.social To clarify what I mean by that last point, this from ESPN/Wysh. I choose to believe that Dallas slow-played it to tie Carolina - a potential Finals opponent - in knots (which they ultimately did do). Another dub for Jim Nill.
