Since 2015, the State of Georgia has spent $4.1 million in taxpayer money for all discrimination lawsuits and legal complaints involving transgender rights. In the 19 claims identified, the State has lost or settled every one so far.

Let’s be clear: this bill is nothing BUT political posturing. Transgender people are being scapegoated by elected officials to help them score political points at their expense.

Sen. Kim Jackson asks Tillery to clarify that this bill would apply to all ages, since Tillery repeatedly refers only to transgender youth.

The government shouldn’t have the ability to overrule patient’s private medical decisions, regardless of age.

Sen. Blake Tillery is presenting the bill now. When asked if he believes gender dysphoria is real, he says “I doesn’t matter what I believe.”

He’s right. We should be letting medical professionals and experts make these decisions, not politicians.
