The Fifth Circuit has ruled that the NLRB violates the separation of powers, and has put stays on many of the NLRB's actions, including against SpaceX. This is a bad sign for the NLRB's continued existence as a meaningful body: www.ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub...

There are very few practical avenues for tech workers in the United States to seek justice when Big Tech companies violate their rights, writes Janneke Parrish. Under Trump, one of the few avenues remaining—the National Labor Relations Board—will now likely be sealed off, she argues.

I was super excited to work on this research with @profschrepel.bsky.social tracking Margarethe Vestager's competition law legacy before the CJEU. Check out our findings below! papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

I do love how the tech oligarchs try the same, tired strategies to suppress workers, and they fail, over and over again.

It warms my heart to see it.
Meta is renewing its threats against employees, telling them today that they will hunt for leakers and tolerate zero leaks.

Want to know how that is going? Three Meta employees who I’ve never spoken to before just cold messaged/emailed me offering me to be sources.

Hey, Apple users: if you install the latest iOS, iPadOS, or macOS updates, you’ll be automatically opted into “Apple Intelligence”. If you don’t want that running on your devices, you have to disable it in Settings.

(this is far from the most pressing thing happening today, but just a heads-up)

This may not be the formal dissolution of the NLRB, but it looks suspiciously like the *effective* dissolution of the NLRB.

And that should terrify everyone in the labour space. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

This is absolutely fantastic news for all workplace activists and for Cher especially. I'm excited to see more steps that prevent the blacklisting of activists within the industries they seek to improve!

This is an absolutely wild take from Vox about Anthem's limits on anaesthesia.

The TL;DR is that American healthcare providers - and anaesthesiologists in particular - bill much higher than their equivalents in other countries, and this policy would have limited that. www.vox.com/policy/39003...
A big insurer backed off its plan to pay less for anesthesia. That’s bad.
What the fight between Anthem and anesthesiologists was really about.

Here's a fun #techlaw problem that's on my mind today:

For a company to be held liable for illegal content on their platform, they must be aware of it. Since platforms don't police everything their users post, they have plausible deniability, and thus no liability, at least until told (1/)

I know it's the rule that a company needs investment to survive, but I'd really, really prefer the investment in this site didn't come from crypto enthusiasts. We need a platform that isn't destructive for everyone involved, and it seems like a pipe dream bsky.social/about/blog/1...

Hey Texans! Starting 1 January, hospitals in #Texas are required to ask patients' citizenship status.

You are under no obligation to answer.

I highly recommend that everyone, regardless of their citizenship status, not answer. Mess up their data. Protect fellow Texans.
