My kids are growing up to be exactly who you’d expect them to be. My 8.5 year old saw an ad on a DC bus for what he described as “rockets on a dump truck.” He then built this, the Costco variant of HIMARS.

Here’s a photo of my older kid’s first foray into digging rare shit, courtesy of a long-time family friend who introduced him to vinyl, 1970s Algerian funk, and 1980s experimental music in one sitting. It’s what I want my kids to grow up loving, as I did - random shit that excites people.

Always a weird day for me to be in America, when there’s space for only one national tragedy. Here’s the last photo of me with Amb Stevens, a few weeks before his murder. He pulled me along for what he did best - connecting with Libyans all across the country, up for anything. I miss our work there.
