Hans Busstra talks to Dr. Bernardo Kastrup about the groundbreaking work of Professor Michael Levin and Dr. Christof Koch. Though Levin and Koch make no explicit metaphysical claims in their work, their empirical findings and views are very much in line with analytic idealism.

This changes my perspective. Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei: "Making AI that is smarter than almost all humans at almost all things will require millions of chips, tens of billions of dollars (at least), and is most likely to happen in 2026-2027."

Nature: There was a consensus among researchers who spoke to Nature for a News Feature published this week (see Nature 636, 22–25; 2024) that large language models (LLMs), such as o1, Google’s Gemini and Claude, made by Anthropic, based in San Francisco, have not yet delivered AGI.

A. Karpathy on X: People have too inflated sense of what it means to "ask an AI" about something. The AI are language models trained basically by imitation on data from human labelers. Instead of the mysticism of "asking an AI", think of it more as "asking the average data labeler" on the internet.

My Thoughts on Coding with AI

Can AI replace programmers? No.
Can a novice programmer become a senior programmer with AI? No.

To be productive with AI, you need to know what to ask. This kind of knowledge and insight can only be gained through experience as a programmer.
