I agree it shouldn't. Some people can't afford the extra. I pay several hundred dollars for my Medicare, which is deducted from my social security. The reason mine is that high, though, is because I still work. However, that plus my advantage plan are cheaper than I would get insurance through work.

Dental and vision are not included on basic Medicare, but you can get it through a Medicare Advantage Plan. Mine costs an additional $42/month and it covers a LOT.
