This is a very important point. Too much thinking about infectious disease in binary terms (contagious or completely safe; totally immune or not at all; ...). We know that the amount of virus inhaled also matters.

Similarly for indoor public spaces, especially if you plan to be in a very small, underventilated space for a long time (e.g. train trip). If unmasked, you'll continue to exhale viral particles which will remain suspended in the air and viable for some time. Even after you've got off the train. 2/

Yep, Influenza is so debilitating. I still wear a P2 at work (office open plan) cos many colleagues have low or zero sick leave left, hence many come back in to office still symptomatic. Thankfully hvac scores air low 500s but of course it doesnt help in lifts n bathrooms or being at same desk pod.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Can you medically request an emotional support person accompany you to take notes , read some of it for you etc? Added trauma is no fun.I have already confirmed with my GP they are happy to summarise my Mum's coroners report to me, I do not want to read it 😞

I've just learned to ignore them, but yep it does upset me a lot and yep it does feel like an assault of sorts, but I don't want to escalate things cos for all I know they have a knife in their bag :(

For family reasons I did some cruises this year and took my aranet. The cabin and all other areas was approx 500 and restaurants 600-700 so at least the hvac works. But still high risk setting 😢

But I didn't use lifts (stairs only) and ate outside for most meals, and avoided buses. (And wore mask if close to people eg theatre..washed hands of course). I saw people crammed in lifts no masks, tour buses full of passengers...likely air con on recycle 😢
