Your sleep deprivation wasn’t apparent at all, in fact your enthusiasm was infectious. Have just preordered your book 😁
Enjoy the new baby stage- it’s so special (even if it’s hard to appreciate with the lack of sleep)

It was fascinating! The Arthurian mythology is so ingrained it was brilliant to have a deep dive into the background and nuance. I’ve shared the episode with loads of people.

Giving energy, thinking space, perspective and opportunity to explore- this is my first toe into the #skychat waters and it’s great! Thanks Jo 😊 - might have to go to try some of that slow wine 😉

I remember being introduced to the ladder of participation, and thinking-YES! Can be hard on QI projects, but always keeps the focus on doing things right, because the right people are in the conversation

The list is really interesting, the three (sorry couldn’t narrow down to two) that resonated are making a difference, kindness and collaboration

My interest in QI came from these 3 - starting with first 2, then experiencing positive change via 3 #QIsky #AHPQI

To start thinking about your values look at the list from Brene Brown and decide which two are your core values.

Dare to Lead List of Values
The daring leaders we’ve interviewed are never empty-handed in the arena. In addition to rumble skills and tools, they always carry with them clarity of values.

In 1989 I was presented with a prize by Phil Collins for best fancy dress at a comic relief fundraiser at his local pub. I was dressed as Bill and Ben and little weed.

Wow- what an amazing place to get married. Standing in the exact place where people have laughed, talked and lived their lives for 2000 years. Very special

I’m sorry to hear of your mum, but just wanted to say that the abyss is made up of the absent services that used to be provided by local authorities before austerity. Current NHS staff have the unfortunate position of having to plug a gap that has turned into a chasm.

How many executive chief nurses are AHPs? How many EXECUTIVE chief AHPs?

Also, many nurses (from whichever pathway they have chosen) will not have a degree, but will have qualified before the shift to degrees and have qualified and registered with diplomas
May 12, 2025 at 9:03 AM
A Director of Nursing should be registered with the NMC- completely agree with you. I do however take issue with the notion that a Mental Health Nurse is not ‘a real nurse’ - sounds like age old polarisation between physical health and mental health services.

It is also true, that for many professions there is a glass ceiling for progression to senior and executive positions
May 12, 2025 at 7:21 AM
I know of no managers with nurse in the title who are not nurses. There are plenty of managers who are not nurses but bring skills from other professions.
