Labour and Co-op Party MP for Lewisham East.
I absolutely loved visiting Bellingham Best Start Family Hub in my constituency!

The passion and zeal from the multi-disciplinary team was fabulous. It was great to meet everyone, and to hear about joint working and the universal support for parents.

Keep up the good work ♥️

Huge thanks to the Royal Engineers for hosting me at Hudson House following the Lewisham Remembrance Parade

It was fantastic to learn about their work supporting our community and their vital role in our British army. I will certainly be taking up the invitation to return! #Army

On Remembrance Day, we come together to commemorate the sacrifice of all those who have served our country.

It was an honour to mark this occasion with our local community, including Lewisham's Young Mayor.

Lest We Forget.

Great to hear about the fantastic work done by Sustainable Food Places from local volunteer Theresa Webb, who I have long admired for her commitment to healthy and sustainable food.

This morning the Mayor of Lewisham, police and Local Cllr’s and I were all out listening to local businesses and customers.

Offering local support in light of the recent fatal stabbing in the area.

Hurricane Mellissa has caused havoc. Today I met Beverley and Joan from Jamaican heritage @St Laurence church - they found the info I am sharing below helpful.

The @FCDOGovUK has a crisis centre offering consular support and is assisting Jamaica.

75 years ago, the House of Commons Chamber was rebuilt following its bombing during the Second World War.

It’s an honour to represent my constituents in this historic chamber and to be a part of this commemoration.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the recent victims of knife crime in my constituency.

Today, I urgently brought this to the attention of the Prime Minister - to ask what further action the Government is taking to tackle violent crime in London.

Hurricane Melissa is devastating news for Jamaica. Read my statement below, and what I am doing to raise the issue with the government👇

Making the most of this lovely September sunshine whilst meeting constituents on doorsteps in #HitherGreen and #GrovePark. Great conversations about local issues like parking access, and wonderful to chat with residents like Margaret and Catriona! 🌞

Beautiful day in #Bellingham & #RusheyGreen speaking to residents on the doorstep. Parking, street weeds and flytipping are all issues which were raised

This local street FGR in my constituency always has great weather for their street parties!

It has been 11yrs since the first street party and I thank the volunteers and the Local Cllr’s involved.

The children also had a fab time!

I recently met with some residents about antisocial behaviour in their local area of #Bellingham, to discuss the changes that are needed to make a difference for their community.

Residents absolutely deserve to feel secure and live in safety.

Flytipping is a blight, an avoidable mess where one person's inconsiderate actions make an area worse for everyone else.
This week, I had a walkaround #Bellingham with an officer from
@lewisham.gov.uk to point out hotspots, and discuss what can be done to tackle the problem

It’s been an honour to serve as the MP for Lewisham East and a Government Minister in the last year. I've visited children’s services nationwide and spoken to stakeholders.
It is clear that much more work still needs to be done.

It was wonderful to hear from such an inspirational young person at last week's Care Leaver Ministerial Board. Thank you to Maleekah for challenging the Board on how it can improve support for care leavers.

Fantastic to meet constituents from the Lee Green Women's Institute who visited Parliament yesterday. Glad to see so many members were able to attend and see the democratic process in action!

Today marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day — a time to honour the heroes who fought for our freedom. As the struggle for peace endures, I remain deeply grateful to our veterans and all those currently serving in the armed forces. #VEDay
