Send the troops to bring a Marshall Fields selling Frango mints back to the Magnificent Mile. Chicago must return to the 1980s. Bueller!

Oodles of studies go food by food, finding reasonably consistent results about, say, potato chips. Some foods have inconsistent results, sometimes showing surprisingly beneficial outcomes, like ice cream and full fat cheese and dairy. The problems come when we try to figure out how to generalize.

Probably economically better for the country to send all the National Guard on a paid tourist trip and skip the arbitrary arrests without due process that take workers away from their jobs.

That's the most immediate area of policy where we have precise nutritional goals; school meals have been moving towards less processing, and that's probably beneficial even if we can't identify precise benefits; I wouldn't expect to.

Industrial processing goes beyond what people can do at home; often, it ends up raising glycemic index. Requiring a precise mechanism of harm is a Republican anti-regulation tactic; I think it's reasonable to ask school breakfasts and lunches to have less processing by the precautionary principle.

Statements like yours are a typical Republican anti-regulation tactic, as opposed to the precautionary principle. See these articles from ACSH, which is non-partisan but tends to be more industry aligned.

Deep frying creates acrylamide, which is particularly high in fried potatoes. It may or may not be a carcinogen but it's an example showing how processing like deep frying can produce substances not in the original. But I'm not the food police. Eat what you like.

How would these differ from the existing laws saying that executive is supposed to staff the government? Why is this agreement any more binding than all the laws being broken?

The Cato plan was to let medical savings accounts roll into 401k type retirement plans.

That's the Cato plan from 1993: high-deductible catastrophic insurance with medical savings accounts that cover the deductible of the catastrophic insurance, as if out of pocket spending worked normally in health care rather than being dependent on insurance bargaining. www.cato.org/briefing-pap...

Put as only a New Yorker would! You can become a Chicagoan by knowing the city's neighborhoods, eating Chicago-style pizza, going to sketch comedy, or preferring the Great Lakes fresh water beaches to ocean beaches.

I wonder if this type of apparently anti-Catholic discrimination will help the Catholics on SCOTUS to perceive that the evangelicals are not on their side.

The brutality of US Little Green Men tear gassing a 2 year old and mom and breaking 6 ribs of a 67 year old is almost unbelievable, and not even mentioned here is bashing the head of a driver against the street and abrading his face against the asphalt near Chute.
