So close, and yet so far. . .
I shall still pour myself a shot of Crown Royal and enjoy the dream.

Thanks, John. Very helpful for getting us through the current times.

By the way, if there were such a thing as an "Anti-Comfort Watch," I nominate "House of Dynamite" (which is great, but it was probably not an ideal choice for Thanksgiving night viewing).

Sleep well, darth. As you once said to us: "Stay safe out there. And stay safe in there."

It's from 1955 or so - there's also a section about how to set up a meat-rendering station and a polite but firm statement that "sour cream is NOT just cream that has gone sour!"

I remember that I had never read that section of the Joy of Cooking before! (and never since then).

I remember when you gave 1960s weird cookbook recipes to one of those neural nets (I believe I contributed a range of organ meat/gelatin recipes from Joy of Cooking). Most of the original recipes were worse than the net-generated ones.

Although I will never forget the "Completely Meat Circle."

Here is a round-up of some of the work North Carolina did in just the past week:

Thousands of students stage massive high school walkout
JUST IN: A tidal wave of 30,000 students hit the streets in Charlotte, walking out to confront ICE with sheer numbers and zero hesitation.

This is a generation refusing to be controlled.

To be fair, "Oh well. Whoopsie," embodies the quality of the Administration's legal work these days.

/13 Why? For proximity to power. For prestige. For attention.

Some tongues were made to praise God. Some tongues were made to sing. Some were made for poetry, some for prose, some to agitate and some to soothe.

But some tongues were made for the boot.
