loved that book. in my memory it's always grouped with _Mail Order Wings_, and right around the same time, in assigned reading, Surreal 3000 and Nos Amis Robots. But the biggest impact was probably Monica Hughes (Devil on My Back, Sandwriter, and the Isis books), and McKinley's _Blue Sword_

thank you for making the space for this to be shared. I lack the words to describe how I fell into the writing at the beginning (I too love the creak of a large bird's wings), and then the growing knot in my throat as I realized where it was going

I loved that video game so hard, I've played it in my sleep so many times. (I tried to get the emulator version to work, but it really needed a joystick, and then it broke on the disc swap iirc)

I was thinking about writing something about feeling disassociated from industry, like people who lose their sleep patterns without indications from the sun, but I guess right now that is a good thing?

I do not have a freezer or oven atm, and seeing the half bushels of tomatoes is making me sad, because generally I have slow roasted half tomatoes in the freezer (along with stacks of butter chicken sauce pucks) to get me through the winter, and this year I will need to find other approaches
