Gatwick expansion would bring “benefits to consumers” and “increase choice for passengers”.

How are 100,000 more flights per year a benefit? Not everybody flies. But plenty suffer the effects: noise pollution, air pollution, & increased greenhouse gas emissions.

Something new for day 48 of my futile one-woman crusade to keep real images popping up on your feed rather than AI (in The Bad Place)

Late autumn in Clent. A little bit of atmosphere and the beech trees absolutely putting on a show! Woodland is tricky but the only way to improve is to keep at it.
Clent is full of different diversities of trees and foliages but here we stand in front of the famous Beech trees. Deep into the middle of November they should be all but bare for the coming winter but a warm and sunless start to the month has kept them in stasis, waiting for the weather to turn. Fog was in the forecast and it seemed to be everywhere but where I was standing. The light was weak till long past 10am until finally it broke through and illuminated the orange and brown colours of the trees standing in front of me! With a big dose of healthy excitement I ran around the woodland but kept coming back to this beech in particular. There’s just about enough fog left to separate it out form the background, but the way the branches spiral down, full of colour, pulled me in. There is something inviting about the warm colours and the carpet of leaves, beckoning you deeper into the copse. Woodland doesn’t come easy, but the only way to improve at something is to keep trying, keep adjusting, ignore the doubt and keep at your own journey.

I highly recommend the documentary #BuyNow on #Netflix, exposing the horrific levels of waste in consumer industries. 15 million items of discarded clothing (“recycled” through companies like H&M) are shipped to Ghana each week. It literally ends up in mountains on the beaches 😭😭😭
