Thank you. It’s okay, just got a bit overwhelmed today.

Thank you. Yeah, it’s all the stuff *around* it…
November 10, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you. Ovarian cancer after a summer spent wondering why my previously mild IBS had got out of control. Turns out the symptoms are the same. Start chemo this week. Just having a bit of a day.

Thank you. Will probably sort out a laundry service for the next few months as I do chemo.

Of course everything would be easier if I wasn’t the kind of weirdo who insists on living alone.

Also I now have three extra large towels that need washing, after using them for drainage. I’m exhausted and cross and why is everything so fucking difficult. (I’ll feel better tomorrow, I’m sure).

Sometimes they don’t even talk; just wrap a blood pressure cuff round you and stick a thermometer in your ear.

Well done. Do you have a system where both are connected at once? Or is there some kind of half-wakeful changeover?

These are helpful points. Also I’m glad I arrived here from a point of fitness.

Some very good people (and me). 😂
November 9, 2025 at 8:11 PM
I did this for my mum this summer! So proud.
November 9, 2025 at 4:58 PM
That’s a good point. I started all this from a place of unusually good health/fitness for a woman of 61. Thank you.
November 9, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Hurray! So pleased. Also some sleep?
November 9, 2025 at 3:38 PM
It’s extraordinary, isn’t it? What a man; what a beard.

They really are the absolute best. I’d known Suzy slightly through stand-up comedy for nearly 20 years before I moved down here, but oh my god she’s brilliant. And her husband Willy is the best of men.

Also what an absolute fucking waste of 18 months of weightlifting and resistance work at the gym.
November 9, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Such a lovely spot. Bit genuinely, a real treat just to be taken out and looked after.

One of the unexpected side effects of the cancer is I’ve lost pretty much all my muscle mass. It’s just… vanished. So there was one unexpectedly steep step up that I realised my thighs did not have the strength to cope with. Luckily I had strong company. But I really feel such a crock.
November 9, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Phew. Take care.
November 9, 2025 at 3:10 PM
It’s glorious, isn’t it? (Usually). Honestly so nice to get outside.
