Have lost/self-indulged in a mad number of hours this week on Ancestry trying to pin down details about an Irish Palatine family in early Lower and Upper Canada. I've warned students about falling down research rabbit-holes 😵💫, but, this time, I clearly forgot to practice what I preach... 📚🕰️📜📚

Working on a grant application and had to look up what the word is for a 250th anniversary. Google came back at me with "Semiquincentennial" and "Sestercentennial". Also saw that Americans might shorten it to "SemiQ" for things in 2026.
