The good people of @monorailmusic.bsky.social in Glasgow now have Zine Things Happen in stock in their beautiful shop... If that's something you'd like to know. They've even made it a Staff Pick, which is jolly nice of them.

My next (and final) trip to the post office this week will be on Thursday. So if you'd like a copy of Zine Things Happen #1 (or, indeed, anything else from my website), please order it before Thursday morning. Otherwise I'll be mailing it next week. Thank you :)

There's no other way to say this, but I've been asked to interview Blur's Dave Rowntree about his new photographic book on Sunday, Sunday 23 November. (Yes, the scare quotes around 'in conversation' worry me, too.)

International postage for the fanzine has been fixed and amended. And if it's not bloody right this time, well, I'm just going to come round to all your houses (even the houses in Greece and Singapore and Australia) and hand deliver the fanzines. Thank you!

🍒 Book stockist in America 🍒

People in the US - this seems like something I should have known before, but I've just found out that @EndofanEar are stocking copies of my book 'These Things Happen: The Sarah Records Story' and they are doing mail order around the US.

Here's a piece about 'The Women Who Built 1960s Bristol', which I was commissioned to write for @andrewkelly.bsky.social ahead of the Bristol Ideas special screening of 'The Newcomers' this weekend, which I'm looking forward to attending.

... and five days before Heavenly's London gig, Blueboy are doing this. It’s almost like the last thirty years never happened. Um – they *did* happen, didn’t they? Absolutely all of them? In order? Because, if they didn’t, I’ve got some photos that really will need a bit of explaining...

It's been a long time since M|A|R|R|S had a number one smash hit single (38 years to be precise), but I'm pleased to see that someone in Yeovil is still committed to putting correctly styled M|A|R|R|S graffiti on gateposts.

Stealing the idea from someone else, I asked ChatGPT to put together everything it knew about me and create an 'action figure'. And here's what we ended up with. Of course, 'action' is not really the word I'd use to describe my writerly days spent faffing about on social media but... y'know.

So - fans of Sarah Records might recall that in the writing of 'These Things Happen' I got to speak to the elusive Christine Grant of Christine's Cat fame. Not only that but she gave me her first ever interview... I know!

Yes. This from @glosswitch.bsky.social sums up the feminist frustration at the response to 'Adolescence'. Feminists have been saying all this stuff for DECADES and we've been ignored because, urm, we're women. *face palm*
