Healthcare science lecturer, gardener, parent/grandparent, climate concerned.
I’m going to Parliament with 130+ other scientists this Tuesday to talk to our MPs about putting science back into decision making.
I’ll be talking to mine about the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, the Climate and Nature Bill, and our 30x30 commitments.

I can just imagine what a non news story it would be for the media too

I really feel that the whole “we can’t say we are over 1.5°c until it’s been 10yrs, 20yrs” thing is so illustrative of that.
As a scientist I totally get it, but as a climate campaigner waiting ten years to say it with 100% confidence feels pointless.

The annoying thing is she’s really good on flooding ( we are coastal and have had two major flood events in the last couple of years) but she doesn’t yet see the link between flooding and climate change, or land/nature use

I will send one last email but I just get the same prepared answers from mine, she’s a new Labour MP and I can understand her being hesitant but at 28 she’s going to have to live with this for a long time.

Yet he still denies we are in a climate crisis 🤷‍♀️

They also suddenly develop a concern for droning water voles 🤷‍♀️

Me too, I’d always voted green locally and labour nationally but my whole family all voted green at both last year

Yep, they don’t seem to see that failing more slowly is still failing

My MP is a new Labour MP, I’ve been trying to get her to back the CAN Bill since before she was elected. It’s a great Bill and oven ready so I don’t understand why some Labour MPs are not representing their constituents over it.
