The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930, which raised import tariffs in the US, was a trade war that contributed to the Great Depression. The act was intended to protect American farmers and businesses, but it led to a global reduction in trade and a worsening of the world economy.

What cemented America as a democratic state?

According to Smithsonian, George Washington's farewell address in 1796 represented "the first transfer of presidential power in American history, a voluntary resignation of office that cemented the country’s status as a stable, democratic state."

When Santa asked my grandnephews if they’ve been good this year, one said, “not really,” and the other admitted he wasn’t sure. Afterward, they explained they didn’t want to lie to Santa, which could make things even worse for them.

In America, you can't be sent to jail just because a president wants you behind bars. People go to jail only for committing crimes—if they’ve been convicted in court by a unanimous jury. We can’t replace due process with political persecution.

Given the reckless list of trump nominees careening toward confirmations, let’s hope there are enough prudent people behind the scenes to protect the guardrails.

Let me get this straight? Trump dithers on about the situation in Syria and his concern is what's best for Russia?

Maybe Tulsi Gabbard can let Assad stay at her house, since they are pals.

Remember, Tulsi Gabbard claimed Assad didn’t use chemical weapons, it was “the rebels.”

Her confirmation hearing will be brutal, if she even makes it to there

One thing is clear about all of Trump’s nominees/appointees; no one qualified would be willing to work for Trump. His options are limited to hack jobs who have peaked in their lives/careers & are desperate to remain relevant. All they have to offer is blind allegiance to a fascist. It’s pathetic.

If you wanted to panic, the time was the night he was re-elected. Now it's time to take a deep breath and do things like express your views to your member of Congress, and start planning for 2026.
There will be no panic in this dojo.
NOW can we panic?

Trump claims in his convo with the Mexican president she agreed to close the southern border. The Mexican president said, “We would never close the border.”

Imagine that. Trump lying.

There's all this post election disecting of the election and why Trump won and it's largely ridiculous.

Harris did nearly as well as Biden in swing states or BETTER and lost all of them because Trump ran up the score with rural and suburban white voters

Aka: racism and sexism

Like trump, that nincompoop at Fox doesn’t understand how tariffs work. Waging trade wars with Mexico, Canada, and China will threaten global trade and hurt US.
Watters: She's threatening her own tariffs. Good luck with that Mexico.
