Back from NYC, and two great jazz shows. The Mike Stern band at Birdland was good. The Jacky Terrasson Trio at Smoke was extraordinary, taking "Misty" "Take Five" and a couple other old chestnuts and turning them into jaw-dropping deconstructed versions that only over time revealed their sources.
