I have to wonder if it’s my socials, if it’s my voice, if it’s some intangibles I’m not thinking about. Or if it’s just plain bad luck. Maybe it’s all of them? I don’t know. But at this point I need to be more strategic or I’m definitely going to burn out.

That and being even more selective with auditions. Idk. It just feels genuinely exhausting when even for indie projects where I think I did a solid job auditioning it feels like I’m going nowhere. You’d think I’d have more chances there than the times I auditioned via an agent. lol

I’m realizing now that the amount of time, effort, energy, and money being extended towards a VO career is not really going anywhere to the degree I need it to. I’m starting to wonder if it’s just better to focus on my own projects, and if anybody wants to hire me they can reach out.

super late on this sorry, but I'm sorry you're going through this. I've had multiple friends deal with harassment from people with very serious issues with mental illness & paranoia in this way, and it is a horrid experience. Really hoping this person gets the help they need and that you're safe.

If a trans woman submits an audition for a male character. You don't even need to ask "are you comfortable voicing male roles?" Because by auditioning she has already told you "yes, I am" by sending in that audition.

It's acting. We're actors. A role is a role. It really isn't that deep.

This is why fascism never wins in the long run.

I don't want to downplay the cost of fascism. They can do insane damage in a short amount of time

But ultimately its never sustainable because its a house of cards with no real foundations.

It is self defeating.
