Had a great time watching #CountedOut tonight and listening to a discussion with @mathforlove.bsky.social and the rest of the crowd + unexpectedly running into some old friends. Glad I powered through my after work teacher exhaustion and made it there!

A little #choralcounting today as students explored counting down by 10s while modeling the count using base 10 blocks in small groups. (And what happens if we go more in either direction).

Favorite comment before we started: “Oh yay! We’re choral counting again!”

The culmination of our unit on plants, trees, seeds, and the interconnectedness of humans & nature. Students chose trees to tell stories about, created their own stories, then cut + combined parts of their stories with others in their group to tell one narrative about trees.
